Shubh Dave.
turning data into conviction.

Finance and Economics at Penn State. I'm drawn to the moment where the analysis stops and someone has to actually make the call: equity research, M&A, valuation, and the unglamorous modeling work that makes a thesis hold up.

EXHIBIT A
↳ Smeal College of Business · Penn State, '26

I read the numbers first, then I work out what they're not saying. A thesis only counts if it survives the data.

I'm a Finance and Economics student at Penn State's Smeal College of Business, graduating in May 2026. For the last three years I've bounced between venture capital, consulting, and financial operations. That meant running due diligence on early-stage startups, building DCF and scenario models, pitching a buy-side M&A deal start to finish, and turning messy spreadsheets into dashboards people actually open.

What I care about is pretty simple. A clean model, a thesis I can defend in the room, and killing the busywork that slows everyone down. I've built research pipelines that gave a team back 10+ hours a week, tightened up reporting, and shipped Power BI and Excel dashboards that made the numbers make sense to people who don't live in them.

Equity Research · Buy-Side M&A Recommendation: ACQUIRE

TE Connectivity should acquire TTM Technologies.

A buy-side case to own the printed-circuit-board supply chain: vertical integration into the largest PCB supplier to the US military, financed 70% cash and 30% stock at a 22.5% premium.

The thesis · why TE
  • Locks in defense supply. TTM is the largest PCB supplier to the US military and a top North American maker; owning it secures aerospace and defense sourcing.
  • Platform fit. TTM's HDI, RF, and flexible PCB technology bolts onto TE's sensor and connector platform for a vertically integrated offering.
  • Margin through integration. Internalizing parts TE already buys (roughly $2 down to $1 per unit) lifts gross margin and cuts vendor count and downtime.
  • Tax arbitrage. TE's Ireland domicile (~12.5%) routes TTM earnings through a lower-tax structure, boosting post-tax free cash flow.

Risk & mitigation
Integration. System misalignment could delay synergy capture. Mitigate with a dedicated integration team that phases out redundancies over time.
Culture. Differing cultures risk talent attrition. Retain key leaders, promote cross-company engagement, and align values early.
Regulation. Antitrust and cross-border review could stall approval. Run early legal checks and communicate the economic benefit to regulators.
